Brrr! Sometimes, the most memorable NFL games are the ones that turn the field into a frosty battlefield! 🥶 Grab a hot chocolate and your Mozy as we dive into the coldest NFL games ever played!

1. The Ice Bowl - December 31, 1967

Temperature: -13°F (with wind chill: -48°F)

This legendary game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys is the coldest NFL game on record. Played at Lambeau Field, it felt like Mother Nature decided to join the playoff festivities. Imagine trying to catch a football that feels like a rock solid ice cube! Vince Lombardi's Packers emerged victors, but both teams felt the bite of the arctic conditions. Would've been nice if the Mozy had existed back then!

2. Freezer Bowl - January 10, 1982

Temperature: -9°F (with wind chill: -59°F)

Just from its name, you know the "Freezer Bowl" means business. The AFC Championship game between the Cincinnati Bengals and San Diego Chargers was a good ol' frost fest. Wind chills dipped down to -59°F, turning Riverfront Stadium into tundra. Too cold? For sure! But that didn't stop the Bengals from steamrolling the Chargers with a 27-7 win. Even if you're not a Bengals fan, you've got to admire their cold-weather grit!

3. Seahawks vs. Vikings - January 10, 2016

Temperature: -6°F (with wind chill: -25°F)

The 3rd coldest NFL game took place a bit more recently —the 2016 wild-card playoff game between the Seattle Seahawks and Minnesota Vikings. With frigid temps at -6°F, fans bundled up! The real kicker? Blair Walsh’s missed field goal as time expired! Seahawks won 10-9, but hey, hats off (or on, considering the cold) to everyone braving that icebox. A Mozy would've really come in handy for those fans!

4. Raiders vs. Packers - December 26, 1993

Temperature: 0°F (with wind chill: -20°F)

Green Bay Packers again? You bet! Seems like frozen games and Lambeau Field go hand in hand. On the day after Christmas, the Packers and Raiders faced off in a bone-chilling duel. Sure, the thermometer read a solid 0°F, but wind chills made it feel a lot worse. Despite the frozen grounds, the Packers clinched a 28-0 victory—talk about a cool win!

5. Panthers vs. Packers - January 12, 1997

Temperature: 3°F (with wind chill: -17°F)

Brrr! No surprise, another Green Bay chill fest! The 1996 NFC Championship game saw the Packers taking on the Carolina Panthers in 3°F weather. What’s a little frostbite when a Super Bowl ticket’s on the line? Lambeau Field spectators were bundled to the nines (but in 1993 they didn't have a Mozy Wearable Thermal Blanket to keep them warm)! Packers dominated with a 30-13 win, securing their spot to eventually win Super Bowl XXXI. Cold weather? More like winning weather for Green Bay!

Stay Warm and Watch On!

There you go, thrill-seekers! It takes more than cold, arctic conditions to freeze the fervor of NFL players and fans. These games prove that no matter how low the mercury drops, the spirit of football burns bright. Fancy reliving more frosty moments or gearing up for the next winter game? You never know—maybe your favorite team will be the next to brave the icy gladiator pit. Stay toasty, and keep that football spirit blazing! 🌟🏈
