12 Fall Fundraising Ideas You’ll Wish
You Thought of Last Year
Author: The Mozy Content Team is made up of outdoor-loving storytellers dedicated to helping you stay warm, cozy, and connected—wherever life takes you. We share tips, stories, and updates inspired by real Mozy moments and our amazing community.
If you’ve ever organized a fall fundraiser for your school, team, club, or community, you know there’s a fine line between creative and completely chaotic. You want to raise money, keep things easy for your team, and ideally avoid sending yet another kid door-to-door with cookie dough.
We talk to parents, coaches, and volunteers all the time who are juggling fundraising on top of everything else. So we pulled together some of the best fall ideas we’ve seen (or wished we’d tried sooner). A few are cozy. A few are clever. All of them are designed to work with limited time, energy, and budget.

1. Custom Patch Fundraiser
If your team or school has a mascot, motto, or inside joke, you can turn it into a patch as a fundraiser. They're affordable to produce, easy to sell, and fun to collect. People put them on jackets, backpacks, Mozy wraps, you name it. You could even let the kids design it as a contest! It’s a fun way to get them involved, build some buzz, and create something people will want to buy when it's done.
Not sure where to start? Here’s our Patch Guide and a peek at how other groups are using custom patches to raise funds.
2. Fall Festival Booth
Fall fests are prime fundraising territory. Set up a table with spirit gear, raffle tickets, baked goods, or even a cozy-up station where guests can warm up and learn about your team or group.
3. Outdoor Movie Night
A projector, a popcorn machine, a chilly fall evening. Sell tickets or donations-at-the-door, and encourage families to bring warm gear (or offer a few cozy Mozy wraps for rent for the night).
4. Raffle a “Fall Night In” Basket
Build a basket full of cozy things - tea, snacks, candles, a Mozy if you’ve got one - and sell raffle tickets at your next event or online. These always draw interest around October and November.
5. Preorder Spirit Packs
Bundle up some gear – like a team patch, a hoodie, and a water bottle – and run a limited-time preorder. It keeps costs low and gets everyone repping your group around town.

Set up a DIY photo booth at the next game or fall event. Props, spirit signs, team gear. Ask for a small donation to access the gallery or offer prints for a set price.
7. Gratitude Grams
Sell thank-you notes that students or players can send to teachers, friends, or teammates.
8. Volunteer Squad
Offer leaf-raking, dog-walking, or yard clean-up in exchange for donations. It’s great for community connection, and a lot more memorable than selling more chocolate bars.
9. Sponsor-a-Player
Ask local businesses or community members to sponsor an athlete or student. Recognize sponsors with a social shoutout or a name-on-the-banner moment at your next event.
10. Spirit Week Sales
During spirit week, sell one themed item each day—patches, stickers, socks, whatever fits. It’s low-lift and builds energy across the week.
11. Halftime Skills Challenge
Run a simple contest at halftime—a sprint, a kick, a free throw challenge. Charge a small fee to enter and give away team merch or a Mozy that’ll keep fans warm in the bleachers as a prize.

12. Coach + Volunteer Gifts
Open up a donation pool for a shared gift. Something practical and meaningful like a branded Mozy is always appreciated, and feels more personal than a gift card.
