From Feedback to Features:
How Mozy Evolved with Your Help (Part 1)
Author: The Mozy Content Team is made up of outdoor-loving storytellers dedicated to helping you stay warm, cozy, and connected—wherever life takes you. We share tips, stories, and updates inspired by real Mozy moments and our amazing community.
Hi, I’m Charlie—founder of Mozy and, more importantly, a lifelong listener. If you’ve ever wondered how Mozy came to be, the answer is simple: it was built by you, our community. Every single feature, every tweak, and every improvement came from real feedback, real stories, and real needs. In fact, Mozy went through 41 design iterations, and every single one was inspired by what you told us would make your outdoor experiences better.
This is Part 1 of a behind-the-scenes look at how your voices shaped Mozy. Today, I want to share three pieces of feedback that fundamentally changed our design—and how we responded.

“Mozy Needs to Work with Everything I Wear”
One of the first things I heard from customers was that Mozy had to be versatile. People wanted to wear it over jeans, leggings, snow pants, or even shorts—depending on the weather, their style, or just their mood that day. The challenge? “One-size-fits-most” is a lot harder than it sounds, especially when you want something to fit comfortably over all kinds of clothing.
To solve this, we engineered Mozy with 12 inches of Velcro and 12 inches of elastic waistband. That means you get a full 24 inches of expansion, so Mozy can adapt to whatever you’re wearing. But we didn’t stop there. We realized that true comfort meant offering more than one size, so Mozy now comes in two sizes, each with that same 24-inch range. If you want to find your perfect fit, check out our sizing guide here.
“Mozy Should Stay Closed Whether I’m Sitting or Standing”
Another common frustration I heard was about wraps and blankets that just don’t stay put. You’d get settled on the bleachers, only to have your blanket gap open when you sat down—or worse, slide off completely when you stood up. People wanted warmth and coverage, no matter their position.
That’s why we developed a specialized elastic waistband that expands as you sit, keeping Mozy closed and secure whether you’re sitting or standing. It’s a small detail, but it makes a huge difference in comfort and warmth. No more chilly drafts sneaking in or awkward adjustments every time you move. Mozy is designed to stay with you, so you can focus on the game, the campfire, or just enjoying the outdoors.
“I Want to Walk with Mozy and Keep My Hands Free”
A lot of you told me you wanted to stay warm, not just while sitting, but also while walking from the parking lot to the game or moving between activities. You needed your hands free for coffee, gear, or holding a child’s hand—and you wanted to walk safely, without tripping or feeling restricted.
That’s why Mozy was designed with two easy ways to walk while wearing it:
1. Waist-Only Closure (Casual Walking Mode)
• Simply close Mozy at your waist and leave it open at the knees and ankles.
• This lets you walk comfortably from your car to the game or venue, keeping your hands free and your lower body warm.
• It’s perfect for short walks and quick trips—no need to carry your Mozy or fuss with it.
2. Walking Mode (Tucked-Up / Instructional Mode)
• For even more room around your feet, use Mozy’s Walking Mode.
• Just tack the bottom of the wrap up by attaching the lower Velcro strip at the pocket.
• This setup is great for longer walks or when you want extra security and freedom of movement.
• We show exactly how to do this in our Walking Mode video.
Once you’re seated, you can fully close Mozy around your ankles for complete warmth. And for peace of mind, Mozy uses safety-release Velcro so you can exit quickly in an emergency. The Velcro is specialized and snag-free, but I always recommend patch-testing it on your clothing just to be safe.

The Value of Customer Collaboration
Every feature I’ve described here exists because someone like you spoke up. Mozy’s design is a direct result of listening to real people and making real changes—41 times over. I’m grateful for every suggestion, every story, and every bit of honest feedback that’s helped shape Mozy into what it is today.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll share how your feedback led to the pocket and carabiner clip design. Until then, thank you for being part of the Mozy story—and for helping us build something better, together.
